Tuscan Wine Tour

in Italy

September 9-16,

2017

Dreaming of eating (and drinking) your way through Italy?
Let us take you on a journey of this rich culture
through their passion for
Food and Wine

Your week in Tuscany

Tuscany is a food and wine lovers dream. Together we'll experience the food and wine specialties of the region, the perfect journey to get to know Italy.

The beautiful Val d’Orcia in Tuscany with its rolling hills covered in vineyards, dotted with hill top medieval villages, and art cities full of history, will be our playground.

Want to get away and relax, learn about wine making (and tasting) in Tuscany, savor delicious food, and visit Tuscan villages while being driven along the most scenic Tuscan routes... an endless visual feast... then this is for you!

This fun wine vacation will also encompass the feeling of family that the Italian culture does so well, by visiting small family run farms and wineries where you'll get to chat and share lunch with the owners.

At the end of our time together you will have made new friends, and know why Italian culture is so amazing,

because you will have lived it.

Pienza and Montepulciano
Your Tuscan Adventures

You'll discover beautiful villages, off the beaten path "Boutique Wineries" plus the jewel towns Tuscany is famous for like San Gimignano, Siena, and Pienza all while taking in the breathtakingly picturesque scenery of Tuscany.

Olive oil mill visit in Cortona

We will start the day at a Frantoio (olive mill)  where we'll learn about the process of making olive oil and walk through ancient terraced olive groves. We'll spend the morning tasting oils and balsamic while learning of their health benefits. Later we'll enjoy a beautiful home made typical Tuscan lunch at a family run winery and explore this famous little hilltown.

This is just a taste of what's to come, and while it's exciting to explore we suggest you also take time to slow down, immerse yourself in the quiet beauty of Italy and enjoy the

serenity of the villa

You will visit a local farm and taste a variety of mouth watering cheeses in Pienza, before stopping at a lovely boutique winery for lunch. You'll spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the quintessential Tuscan medieval village of Montelpulciano where we'll taste the famous Vino Nobile wine recognized centuries ago as "being worthy of kings"

Brunello di Montalcino

In this picturesque medieval village on the top of a hill with views out over the rolling hills you will sample Brunello di Montalcino, currently the most appreciated Italian wine in the world.

You'll have free time to explore Montalcino, before we meet up to tour one of the oldest wineries in town where you'll be treated to a special lunch in the garden with a stunning view over the valley. There will be an opportunity to visit the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo, a former Benedictine monastery famous for Gregorian chants before heading to one more very special winery where you'll meet the winemaker and enjoy a personal tour and tasting with his family

Indulge in the wonderful cuisine of Tuscany

Eating a delicious meal is one of the great pleasures in life. Italians are very passionate about food and the quality of  ingredients they use. Everything is locally sourced, fresh, and simple. You will get to indulge your senses with the flavors of Tuscany during our excursions and at our villa with our wonderful chef who will delight us with authentic dishes, AND teach you how to prepare a Tuscan meal during a fun cooking lesson. Our chef will return on our last night for a farewell pizza party, preparing the pizza in our outdoor pizza oven.

Be ready to taste all the sensory delights Italy has to offer from extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, authentic regional cuisine, cheeses, and of course Vino!

Sneak peek at our villa in Tuscany

Our Home in Tuscany

You'll be staying in a beautifully restored villa that was once an old 18th century monastery. This beautiful property consists of a main building and two annexes, one of which is a proper spa with sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool tub, chromotherapy shower and a small salt cave. The backdrop to this unrivaled location is southern Tuscany, a region with unique art, history, culture, traditions and cuisine. We are just five minutes from Cortona, the medieval town in the province of Arezzo made famous by Frances Mayes book Under the Tuscan Sun, and movie of the same name with Diane Lane

The pool is in a beautiful garden with roses, lavender, jasmine, cypresses and olive trees, offering stunning views over the valley towards the lush green Tuscan hills. We will enjoy our meals al-fresco in the garden taking in the view, and hopefully get a chance to use our outdoor brick pizza oven.
